Picture Postcards and Photographs

Wendy Hall has been collecting old picture postcards of Conistone and Kilnsey for decades and many of the views displayed here with her kind permission are from her extensive collection.  There is in addition a small number of old photographs showing local places and people.

They provide a fascinating record of the villages through the 20th century.

One of the most famous local photographers and postcard makers was William Curtis, who lived in Kilnsey between approximately 1910 and 1920.  Click here to see Bob Richardson's account of his life and activities.
