The Falcon Inn and Cottage

The Falcon Inn in the Yorkshire Dales village of Arncliffe is a traditional Dales Inn which has been run by the Miller family for four generations.

At the Falcon, which has lovely bay windows and an ivy-covered exterior, you can enjoy superb Dales hospitality. Ale is served here from barrel to glass via a porcelain jug, and the evening meal and breakfast offer traditional home cooking - and lots of it. Vegetarians can be catered for by prior arrangement.

The accommodation at the Falcon offers a choice of single and double bedrooms, with en-suite facilities an option. The residents sitting room and dining room both look onto Arncliffe Village Green and the surrounding cottages. In the sitting room guests can enjoy a roaring open fire which creates the perfect ambience for post-dinner coffee.

The Falcon Inn is overlooked by limestone hills and is situated in the Arncliffe Conservation Area. It is an excellent base for exploring the many delights of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales. You can enjoy scenic walks and the many superb local geological features, including Malham Cove and Gordale Scar. There is wildlife, flowers and stunning scenery a plenty close by.

The Inn has private fly fishing on the rive Skirfare, with a four-mile stretch of its own. The river, which is not artificially stocked, is inhabited by brown trout. You can see evidence of this in a display case in the Inns bar: a three pound brownie. During the trout season fishing is available from Monday to Saturday. Day tickets are available free to Falcon guests and are available to non-residents from the Inn.
